01 / THE PROBLEM
Journey detail tends to drift.
When dates, locations, progress notes and presentation variants are maintained in separate places, a small edit can leave a journey story inconsistent or inaccessible.
Portfolio case study / static prototype
One clearly labelled dataset can keep an itinerary, route explanation, status notes, a poster concept and an offline currency example in step—without presenting travel advice as live information.
01 / THE PROBLEM

02 / BOUNDED CONTRIBUTION
This clean-room case study demonstrates requirements framing, a single fictional source of truth, responsive presentation and validation-minded delivery. It does not represent a booking service, a live itinerary or a real person's travel.
03 / HOW IT WORKS
In a production-ready implementation, one sanitised record would feed the cards, route list, poster and status indicators. This local static version intentionally makes the same fictional relationships visible in HTML so it remains readable with JavaScript disabled.

Explain safelyStatic labels retain uncertainty and no-live-data limits when offline.04 / FICTIONAL DEMONSTRATION
A newly invented, planar five-stage journey. Place names are abstract labels—not destinations, coordinates or recommendations.
Orientation note and first route marker.
Illustrative transition with a labelled uncertainty.
Mid-route pause used to test card consistency.
Accessible text route remains available without a map.
Closing marker for the poster and route sequence.
STATUS / CURRENCY DEMONSTRATION
Currency values below are deterministic interface examples, not current rates, advice or a conversion service. A real design would display provenance and refresh state beside every live value.
| DISPLAY | FIXED DEMO VALUE | STATE |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Waypoint | 12.00 Lanterns | bundled fixture |
| 1 Waypoint | 4.00 Marks | bundled fixture |
| 1 Waypoint | 8.00 Quills | bundled fixture |
Offline demonstration: values stay visible because this page ships with its fixed example data. Nothing is fetched, stored or sent away.
POSTER CONCEPT / PRINT-SAFE VIEW
A lightweight poster treatment proves the content can adapt to a different format. It is CSS and type, not copied artwork.
05 / LEARNING AND TRANSFER
The demonstration focuses on a transferable practice: keep facts structured, render them consistently, expose uncertainty, and design a readable fallback before adding interface polish.
A route display is more trustworthy when the visitor can trace each visual point back to a labelled stage, see whether a note is illustrative or uncertain, and still understand the story without animation or a map.
06 / BOUNDARIES
This is a clean-room recreation of general engineering patterns. The names, stages, route, statuses, poster and values were written fresh for this portfolio.
